So our move has begun, from our two bedroom apartment to the one bedroom next door. All so the landlord can go in and renovate our apartment with new carpet, tile and paint. Thankfully one of my long time friends came over on 2 hours notice and helped Steve move all the big stuff since his friends suck ass and bailed (guilt trip coming soon). In a matter of an hour they had all the big stuff moved, 3 dressers, the bed, 2 couches and the entertainment center. Plus G said if he saw me holding anything heavier than a glass of water he was gonna beat the crap out of Steve....ahhh I love my friends!
Little box by little box the move has begun, we are cramming our lives into this little apartment and my pack rat of a husband is forced to let go of all the things he's saving for "when". It will be so nice moving back into an apartment that was his for so long, then became ours but still looks like his. I will have a say on where things go and decorating this time (the ugly naked lady in the living room is gone, I don't care if she's art). So I'm excited, but most of all, our little ladies room is on the way! I can't wait to spend the first weeks of October making our final decisions and creating a space perfect for our Samantha!
Now on to the bad side. Since we moved we have a new upstairs neighbor, and guess what she has....and elliptical that is not quiet. Plus as I found out this morning, she is an early riser getting up at 4:30am. Of course that was not before she proceeded to snooze her loud as all hell alarm every seven minutes starting at 4am. I'm giving her one freebie night, I was in a new place, kind of awkward and am normally a heavy sleeper. Steve slept through it and he's the light sleeper so maybe it was just me. BUT if this crap happens again tomorrow morning I'm going to trot my pregnant belly (and Steve) upstairs and as politely as possible tell her I've only got a couple weeks of pleasant sleeping left for the next 18 years of my life and I would sure love it if she could lower the volume on her alarm or get up the 1st or 2nd time (rather than the 5th) it goes off. OR I am going to start a war at 2:30am so she knows how it feels to be woken up hours before actually having to get up.
Oh what I wouldn't give to have my loud sex having upstairs neighbor back, at least she was quiet the rest of the time.

The shopping has begun...
Steve has my car today so my normal lunch hour of sleeping in the costco parking lot in my car was derailed. Instead I went for a walk and ended up at Walmart in the baby section! I am very proud that I contained myself to under $10, but here's what I got!

The white one is little elephants and the yellow is little pink and purple hearts, too cute!!! I told Steve I will keep a file of all the receipts so I can remind myself of how much I've spent and not go overboard! I just couldn't help myself! Having a little girl can make me go broke!

20wks and Big U/S
It has been far to long since I updated my blog (or read any others for that matter). So here goes!
Friday we had our Big U/S and found out to our complete shock we are having a little girl! Steve and I were both convinced we were having a little boy so it took a while to sink in. Once it did, we embraced her and are loving life! We are still deciding on a middle name but her first name will be Samantha, a name I have always loved!
So here are a couple pics to explain our weekend! I hit the 20 week mark on Saturday, here is my 20 week belly...

(I had a little pink bow on my belly because that's how I told a couple friends!)
My mom was very excited to find out what the baby was, she knew we were convinced of a boy but she really wanted a girl! I made her a cake...

(She was very excited!)
And for my MIL because she is diabetic and can't have cake I gave her this...

Much to my surprise she started crying, which made me start crying! It was a nice reaction!
All in all, life has been good just very very busy! Steve made a deal with the landlord to get us new carpet and flooring in the kitchen and bathrooms so we are doing a temporary move out of our apartment and in to the 1 bedroom next door (we'll have fun cramming everything in)! The plus, I can't procrastinate on the nursery anymore!
How far along?: 20 Weeks 2 Days
Total weight gain: Down 3.5 lbs (as of 19 wk appointment)
How big is baby?: Tech said Friday she's approx 12 ounces
Maternity clothes?: Oh yes, I love my maternity shirts!!!

Best moment this week?: Find out we're having a little lady and telling my mom and MIL.

Food cravings?: Not much lately actually, I'm getting my appetite back.

What I'm looking forward to: Starting on the nursery after the move
Milestone: Half way done baking our little one!

My flat tire escapade
So Tuesday night on my way home from work I got a flat tire. I'm pretty sure I hit something on the freeway just before I got off that ended up leaving a puncture about an inch long in the sidewall of my drivers side rear tire. This is the very long, full story!

Steve had an appt at the chiropractor and then plans for dinner to catch up with some old friends, so I decided I was craving a Casper's tamale (yes I know they are known for hotdogs but I can't stand their hotdogs). I got a couple block from the freeway, thank you green lights, and went to flip a U-turn to get to Casper's. As soon as I got around the turn I knew something was wrong, I pulled into Casper's and checked it out, totally flat!!!
I texted Steve "I have a flat tire" and went inside to get my tamale. I got back to my car and thought if I could get air in the tire I could get home, which was about 10 blocks away. I left and headed for the gas station, which required another U-turn and my car started shaking like crazy. I pulled to the side, turned on my hazards and went 2 miles an hour to the gas station. I got about 20lbs of air in it when the gash became very evident and started spewing the air right back out. So there I was, left foot pressed against the tire over the hole using both hands to hold the nozzle to get air in. I got just about 40lbs of air in when I threw the nozzle to the side (it's retractable) and jumped in my car and took off. I got down the street and then got stuck and a red light, that killed me.
I made my turn, hazard lights back on while being honked at, and pulled over at the first available safe spot (which just so happened to be the same spot my car died on me about 3 years ago). I sat and debated, tried to call Steve even though I knew he wouldn't answer and said screw it, I ate my tamale and it was sooooo yummy, lol!
Steve wouldn't be out of his appointment for at least another half hour and even then his dr was 30 minutes away. I decided I'd change to tire myself and if I had problems I'd call my brother (who was at work) or wait for Steve. I am so so proud of myself, it only took me about 15 minutes and part of the was me having to stand up every once in a while because the squat position just wasn't comfy. Keep in mind I had ton, and I mean tons, of people drive by and not one offered to help. Even a city cop stopped right next to me and kept driving. I was just putting the spare on and reinstalling the lug nuts when some random guy was walking by and offered to help. By this point I was done so I politely declined and thanked him for his offer.
I chucked the flat into the trunk (baby didn't like that) and went home. As soon as I was walking down the drive Steve texted asking where I was, I called him back and said "You'll be so proud of your low maintenance pregnant wifey" and explained what happened. I made my hubby very proud and can't help but pat myself on the back! Better yet Steve got me a used tire yesterday for $31 dollars installed. I'm selling the car in a couple months so I didn't want to put a brand new $100 tire on the car for nothing!
