Yesterday was our second u/s and we got to see baby again. Unfortunately my scanner is being a pain and wont let me scan because the printer is out of ink...booo! So I'll add the picture once I pic up some ink.
In the meantime, our appointment went great. The doc did and pap and u/s and measured the baby. Last time at 5w6d the baby measures 2.2, this time at 7w6d the baby was measuring 16.3, so huge growth! He said the baby is measuring at 8w1d, so two days ahead but he's sticking with my original dates since it's still a little early to tell rump from legs! We have a distinct head and the doc pointed out an arm but I couldn't see it, and of course the heart was still beating strong.
I go back again in three weeks but in the meantime he is sending me to do all the blood work and gave me the info to make my appointment for the NT scan between 11w and 13w6d. My next appointment is June 19th and as he put it, I don't get to take my pants off anymore until December. He says from now on we'll be doing sonograms from the outside.
At our next appointment we should be hearing (yes hearing woohoo) the heartbeat and he says that's when it's safe to tell people we're pregnant. I already had planned to tell my family when we go on our cruise next weekend and decided I am still going to tell them. There is no way, in a family full or social drinkers, that I could get away with not having a drink and not being pregnant! So we will tell them and should anything go wrong, they would know about that too!
Our appointment put me and Steve at a ease, I felt so great yesterday knowing the baby seems safe and sound in there and is growing properly! Now I get to look forward to going on our cruise and telling my family the great news!!!!

Just a little update!
So things have been pretty simple lately. I have a bit of nausea a couple times of day, food used to help but its been ify these last couple days. I have yet to throw up, which I appreciate, so if this is the extent of my morning sickness I'll take it, even if nausea is my most dreaded feeling in the world.
I weighed myself the other day and I've gained .4 of a pound, not bad at all. I'm sure it all varies day by day given that gas is my new best friend and some days I gorge more than others. Luckily I've been craving fruits and veggies (except last night I wanted meat and potatoes) so my diet hasn't been too much of an issue.
I have my second appointment tomorrow morning to double check the baby and make sure the heart is still beating strong. Since our other u/s was done so early, the doctor just wants to double check. This will be getting me out of a work a little over an hour early so I really hope we don't have a wait this time (although the nestie who recommended him is about to pop so I may be delayed due to her delivery, she's due Saturday). I'm really excited to see the baby again as it will put me at ease to tell my family next week when we leave for our cruise.
All in all I feel like things are going super slow. I have only known I'm pregnant for 28 days but these seem to be the longest 28 days of my life! However when I look at it from the perspective of being 8 weeks on Saturday and 10 weeks when I get back from my cruise it scream your 1/4 of the way done. Maybe its those freebie 2 weeks they give you at the beginning that cause that. Either way, things are good, I'm tired all the time but making it through!

My crazy baby dream!
So I had my first baby dream since actually being knocked up and it was too whacked out not to share. You'll really have to keep the mind set that dreams make no sense and are completely illogical, so here goes:
I'm 4 months pregnant and have my baby at work, I don't remember labor, but this is my baby, I delivered him in the copy room. For some reason he is six months old and has no desire to eat as I plan on breastfeeding him (apparently that's all I could think about). So we're all just hanging out and then the baby starts walking around in front of me, in shock I say "He's walking" to which Steve's friends on again off again girlfriend who does not work with me replies "We'll he's hungry!".
So I decide to give breast feeding a go and put the baby up to my right breast, he tries for a second and then throws a big fit reaching for a bottle off to the side with remnants of formula (no clue were that came from). I keep trying and he continues to fight, said girlfriend above says I need to make sure there is actually milk in my breasts and she proceeds to squeeze them trying to "milk" me. Apparently it must have worked (is it possible to black out from embarrassment in a dream?) because I switch the baby to the left side to feed. This of course worked, why you ask, because my nipple was four inches long and hanging from my breast like a limp noodle.
Next thing I know I'm done feeding him but for some reason I am now sitting on the toilet as I finish. I realize he's naked and hasn't gone to the bathroom yet so rather than put a diaper on him I pinch his butt and he starts pooping everywhere. I guess its a good thing that baby size toilet appeared in the stall with us, so I just held him over it.
That's about all I remember, I must have woken up after this. So if anyone out there interprets dreams, have a go with this one but that's just too weird for me to try!

Evil Sunburn
I thought thought thought I could keep myself from getting burned this weekend but no such luck. We went to the rodeo on Sunday and the sun was to our backs the entire time. So why is it that my chest is burned? Because I'm a dumb ass and only put sunblock on my back! Today it's actually finally calming down and isn't massively causing pain at all times, which is a good thing since I have a volleyball game tomorrow night!
In other news, I have had little bouts of nausea here and there, nothing eating a small meal hasn't fixed. It's pretty much like clockwork, about and hour after I wake up I'm nauseous (you know as I'm driving to work) I eat something and then it kicks back in about 11am. So now I have my desk stocked with little things, I'm eating a spoon of yummy peanut butter as we speak, it's never tasted so good!!! I'm still crazy tired all the time but it gives me an excuse to be lazy. This of course is a bad idea since Steve is being lazy too, our house is a mess!
Just a little update, I think that's it!

Baby's First Appointment
We've got a little baby in there and we got to see the heart beat! Very small but our baby is in there!

This was an appointment with a new doctor an aside from waiting 1 1/2 hours past our appointment time because he was delivery a baby, he was absolutely awesome. Our appointment lasted about an hour where her introduced us to his family (via pictures on the wall) and told lots of stories when we mentioned anything that popped one up. He is absolutely hilarious and says if we want serious, he's not the doctor for us, therefore he's perfect!!!!
After getting to know each other (Steve was with me) I had a vaginal ultrasound where we got to see our baby (that Steve calls Burpy thanks to my inability to stop burping since we found out I'm pregnant). The doc put us under strict orders not to tell anyone we're pregnant and made an appointment for me to come back in two weeks so he can make sure the baby is still going strong.
So we are ecstatic with confirmation that as of now we've got a little baby in there, measuring right on track with a beating heart! Waaaaaahoooooo!!!!

Telling my BFF
So this all happened on Tuesday but my brain wasn't functioning and I kept forgetting my camera!
This was a complete shock to her because we were emailing throughout the day and I lied to her when she straight out asked me if I was pregnant. See, her grandma has this thing where she dreams about fish, everytime she dreams about fish someone in the family or close to it is pregnant. This has happened with every girl in there family who gets knocked up, so when her grandma called and asked if she was pregnant again (she just had a baby 4 months ago) she straight out asked if I was pregnant because she knew she wasn't! BTW I did tell her grandma at her shower if she had any fish dreams to let me know.
I told her it's not lying if you clear it up within 5 hours, so now she refers to me as the 5 hour liar!
Anyhow, Tuesday night is usually dinner night with my mom but since my mom wanted to see Corrine's reaction we invited her over for dinner too! Steve and I made yummy fajitas! Once everyone got there we were talking and what not and I handed Corrine the card and told my mom to grab the camera. Corrine took the card out of the envelope and had it face down when Steve got into a long story about his shoulder. This was actually a good thing because my battery in my camera was dead so I had to dig the other one out of the bottom of my purse. Once we got that all settled I sat down on the couch where Steve continued to talk about his shoulder.
I sat there making faces at my mom and she started waving at Steve from across the room to get him to shut up. It wasn't working so I finally looked up at him and said "Will you shut up already and let her open the card?" He realized what I was doing and shut up so she opened the card, this is it...
The picture is her daughter that I was watching the week I got my BFP!
And her reaction.... although I think I might be more entertained by her sons reaction, lol!

I love you Saltines!
In all your salted, dry texture, you make my world a better place. My mom told me she didn't get any morning sickness with any of her 3 pregnancies so I was hoping I could follow in her footsteps. I mean who cares if she was half my age when she had my brother and even still 11 years younger when she had me (she's a early momma, I love her) I should get the same stuff right. I mean I get all her other issues!!!I woke up feeling nauseous and though maybe it was in my head but as I sat here and had a bowl of Fiber One Shredded Wheat I still felt the same, if not worse. I finally budged and cracked open the packet of Saltines I snagged from the pantry this morning. Can you hear the angels sing?
I feel so much better now, I might actually be satisfied with the salad and yogurt I brought for lunch!!! Time to go buy more saltines!!!!

Telling my mom (and brother)
Yesterday was an absolute awesome Mother's Day!
It started with Steve and I going out to breakfast with my mom and my brother (yummy food, bad service), normal conversation all during breakfast. Well the restaurant was handing out red roses to all the mothers and our crappy waitress totally skipped my mom. My brother grabbed one of the bus boys and asked if they were still handing them out and pointed to my mom asking for one. Well the bus boy comes back and brings both my mom and I a rose...

Of course none of them (but Steve) knew that I deserved it and they we're making comments about how next year I'd need it and we'd have a baby at the table with us.
We leave breakfast and go back to my mom's house so she can open her gifts. I brought three bags over, a huge one that was her Wii (my brother and I got it for her), a medium sized one that was accessories for the Wii and then a small one that was my gifts to her.

This is her once she realized it was a Wii, super happy!
She opened the accessory bag and then I told her which wrapped gift out of the first bag she was supposed to open...it was this...

Now this is where my mom is just as brain dead as my hubby, she read the "Grandma & Me" part and assumed it was for the future, she thought the picture was of Wii controllers (apparently the $ store test look like Wii controllers). So this is her reading the frame with an Awwww reaction...

and this is when my brother (next to her) pointed out what was in the picture...

See the light bulb above her head? LOL!!!! I also gave her the "Property of Grandma" t-shirt...

She was super excited (my brother too) and so happy I waited until Mother's Day to tell her. She said she absolutely loved her Wii but that I gave her an even better present. Her name on her Wii character is now "Hot Granny"!!!

In other news, my BFF couldn't get her schedule to match with mine yesterday so she still doesn't know, I refuse to tell her via text/email/phone!
Steve also called his mother (she lives out of state) and wished her a Happy Grandmother's Day, she got it right away and he said she seemed genuinely happy for us, which we were not expecting.
We also went and saw Steve's grandmother on Saturday and shared the news with her, unfortunately she probably doesn't remember but we we're glad to see her and share our news.
Now comes the waiting game, 4 more weeks until we tell the rest of my family and 5 more before we tell our close friends. All in all I had a super Mother's Day, even if very few people know I'm a mommy!!!

I Love My BFPB!!!
Thursday, May 7, 2009
My hubby is having a horrible day!
I feel so bad for Steve, last night he was walking into the parking garage at our apartment and a spider came flying at his face, natural reaction, swing! Well this can't be your reaction when you had surgery 2 weeks ago on your shoulder. He was in so much pain I felt horrible for him, he popped a bunch of drugs, iced his shoulder and called the advice nurse. She said he was already doing everything they would tell him to do and if it got worse, go to the ER.
Well this morning he still wasn't feeling better so he called again to get a hold of his doctor/surgeon. Well apparently the guy is in surgery today so they told him to come to the ER! They charged him a $100 co pay, gave him a shot for pain (that isn't working) and did 4 xrays. That doesn't do a whole lot of good when the surgery was on the muscle but okay, at least he knows he didn't dislocate his shoulder (which we didn't think he did).
Then to top it all off, last night he got a call from his mom and she informed him that his grandmother isn't going to last much longer. She turned 85 on our wedding day last year and has had Alzheimer's trying to take over her life the last couple years. Apparently she is to a point where she isn't eating much and is in a lot of pain. His mom told him if he wants to see her, he needs to do it this morning (which he couldn't since he was at the ER) or tomorrow morning.
Her family asked if there was anything she wanted to see before she passed so Steve's aunt and uncle are renting an RV and on Saturday morning and driving her to Yosemite. Steve spent every childhood summer camping with the entire family at Yosemite so obviously that was a huge pull on his heart strings.
I really hope that when she does pass it is peacefully. DH is sad to know that she will most likely never get to meet our baby, but he can be happy that his cousin gave birth to her first great grandchild in January and she was able to meet him in March. He will be carrying on her husbands name!
So if you could keep Steve in your thoughts that would be great. With his physical health and now his mental health strained, I'll do my best to be the most supportive wife he could ever ask for!

Thoughts 5 days later
Okay so where to start. According to the 6 pregnancy tests I've taken, I'm still very much so pregnant, see:
I love how the lines keep getting darker and darker!!!
I called my doctor first thing Monday morning and they immediately referred me out to an OB, I guess my doctor is only a gyn. Had I known this before I would have started this process earlier, he made no mention of it when I started asking him pg questions and told him we were TTC. Anyhow, he referred me to someone who wasn't accepting new patients so I called back and got another recommendation. I called this doctor and the receptionist was extremely rude, I mean extremely. She acted like I was supposed to know the doctors schedule and god forbid she have to look something up twice. Being paranoid I made the earliest appointment they would give me, May 20th.
I called my DH upset that this lady was so rude and the doctor didn't even deliver at the hospital where I want to deliver. I started researching the specific hospital, which is 30 minutes away, and all the doctors we're either listed at La Clinica (paranoid white girl here) or an hour away.
Thanks to one of the local ladies on GP (thank you KC21) I was pointed in the direction of the Northern California Babies board on the bump, where I got the pleasure of shocking them all into their first post about a 2010 baby. I asked for recommendations on OB's and/or delivery hospitals and those ladies were more than helpful. One even referred a Dr at the hospital I want to deliver at, so I googled the heck out of his name. From the internet he seems to be an awesome doctor, nothing but rave reviews (except 1 but you can't please everyone). His office is right across the street from the hospital and his receptionist is super, super helpful. She even told me exactly what I needed to do in order to keep him as an OB when I change my insurance at the end of this month. That being said, I now have an appointment with him on May 15th @ 2:45 pm. I am expecting a packet in the mail of all the registration stuff, they don't like making people fill it all out in the office (this is much appreciated). I am so excited!!!
Other than that, as of now, no one knows we're pregnant (except DH told some life insurance guy). I had planned to tell my mom and BFF the day I found out but the timing just didn't work as I didn't want to tell my mom over the phone! I decided to wait until mothers day to tell them.
For my mom, I got her a t-shirt from vista print, weird I know but in all my free ordering from them for my wedding I got her a shirt then that said "Billie and Steve's Wedding, July 26, 2008, Mother of the Bride". She absolutely loves that shirt, I have no clue why but she loves it so I figured I would do the same for the baby. I got her one that says "Property of Grandma" with the XXL sports logo and then on the bottom I put " Est. January 2010". I also plan on giving her a frame that says something along the lines of "Grandma and Me" and putting a picture of the positive digital HPT in it. I'm still debating on whether to get her a card signed by us w/ the baby or make her open the gifts to figure it out. Oh and my brother and I are also getting her a Wii so she will be uber happy on Sunday!
For my BFF, I am making her a card. On the front I am going to put a picture I took of her daughter (who I was watching last week) with a word bubble saying "Mommy, I know something you don't know" and when she opens it I have another pic of her daughter with my HPT (I held it in front of her, she's only 3 months) and I'll put, "Guess what this says?" You really can't see the "pregnant" part in the pic, but you can definitely see the EPT logo.
So needless to say, it's been an exciting week and will be an exciting weekend. Steve said, "Oh great now I have to get you a mothers day gift!" I told him a card was fine because he always gives me the best cards. Actually he always give me two, one romantic and one funny! Overall he has been the sweetest guy ever these last few days, the other night I was at the computer and he was getting into the fridge, he turned to me and said " You know, you're really beautiful!" he then explained that he was watching me sleep the night before, he made me tear up!! Of course 10 minutes ago he texted me with "I love you, baby mama. Lol" He's such a goofball!
I know that's a lot of reading, I commend you if you got all the way through, that's my recap of the last 5 days!!!!

I love how the lines keep getting darker and darker!!!

I'm Pregnant
Check this out!!!!!!
Now that my hands are shaking a little less, here goes! I woke up early when my friends baby girl started fussing, I popped up immediately and took two steps towards her before realizing I didn't temp. I threw myself back on the bed and temped 97.88, was that because I had gotten up??? I mean after all it's not that high???

I got up and took care of the baby, meanwhile DH got up and started checking his email. I said I was off to the shower to get ready for work, instead I PIAC! I tested first with a $ test and within 15 seconds starting seeing a line so I ripped open a second test and used it too! While doing that one an apparent line had shown on the first so I starting ripping open the digital without even checking the second one, I read the directions (didn't want to be one of "those" girls) and tested. I turned on the shower to cover up the noise and within 30 second PREGNANT popped up!
Shaking like flippin crazy I prepped my way to tell DH and took the longest shortest shower of my life (I was trying to surprise him so I had to play it cool). I got out, wrapped a towel around me and walked out of the bathroom with this...
I walked up to DH still at the computer and showed it to him, he looked at it, smiled and asked "how long have you had this for?" I said " about 4 months". I started to cry and he looked up and me and asked why I was crying (he seriously didn't get it) so I put the tool box down and opened it...
He picked up the onesie on the left and noticed it was his truck and started commenting about how cute it was. We kept talking and then I told him it even came with tools...

We talked about the tools being made of chocolate and then he just starts talking about life in general. I looked at him and said "You don't get it do you?" and he said "what?" so I ripped the pregnancy test out of the top of the toolbox and shoved it in his face. I mean OMFG honey I know your on drugs because of your surgery but seriously? He thought I was just giving him a gift, umm NO!
So we hugged, kissed and he just kept staring and smiling at the tool box. I called into work (guilt free) and we spent some time talking. We are sooooo excited!
If you've read my blog the last couple says you know my symptoms but here goes:
- Sore boobs with occasionally tingling nips
- Mild cramps on my left side (omg my friends baby just spit up all over me)
- Mild lower back cramps
- Watery and Egg White CM
- Extremely gassy regardless of what I eat
- Looking back I have also been super super hungry all the time
So there you've got it, I'm KTFU!!!!!!!
*edit* The reason behind the tool box is because Steve has always said wether a boy or girl they will know how to work on a car, he will teach them everything they need to know!
