1st Anniversary Weekend

Steve and I decided to spend our 1st Anniversary as a married couple around the area. We went to the Gilroy Garlic Festival on Saturday and enjoyed all kinds of yummy food...

Garlic Fries

Garlic Shrimp Scampi

Garlic Escargot w/ Mushrooms

and even Garlic Ice Cream (not an everyday delite)

After the festival we headed down to Monterey, CA and to our hotel to take a nice cool shower, instead we ended up in the best part of our very cute hotel room at the Sunset Inn, the jacuzzi tub for 2...
After a nice dinner (with fireworks) and a good nights sleep the next morning we headed off to breakfast, where we got a $30 parking ticket, woohoo, and then strolled out to Lover's Point...

Me 4m1d pregnant!

Steve and I

And then off to the Monterey Bay Aquarium where we walked around for hours checking out all the cool sea life...

Oh to be a seahorse!!!

After a quick dinner at Fisherman's Wharf we headed home up the coast on Highway 1. This was the view (although not blurry IRL) that we left in our wake...

It was and awesome weekend and I loved it being just Steve and I. Here's to many more years of love and life with my hubby!

Precious Moments Shopping

I decided to do a little shopping yesterday to make sure I keep my collection going. I have quite the collection of precious moments figurines, tender tails, clocks, etc etc and I have always wanted to decorate my babies room in Precious Moments. Well Steve says I only get to do that if we have a girl (which would be great because I could pull my collection out of our storage room) but I went ahead and bought a Precious Moments baby book either way! I also got these...
To celebrate our first wedding anniversay this weekend!

This one to celebrate being pregnant!

And this one because I'm early shopping and get an ornament every year!

I can't wait for them to come in the mail!!! Free shipping is the best!!!

No more Volleyball!

Last night was my volleyball playoffs and my last set of matches until after the baby! You'd think I'd miss it but with as sore as I am today...maybe not! We finished the season in 3rd and playoffs consist of 2nd-4th battling it out to go against the 1st place team in the championships. First round we played the 4th place team (some really good friends of mine) and beat them in 2 games (we play best 2 out of 3). Then we went on to play the 2nd place team and upset them with a comeback beating them in the first game and then humiliating them in the second game. On to the championship round, 2 hours in and game #5 with only 5-10 minute breaks in between sets.

We have always gotten killed by this team but we actually made them go into extra points to win by two the first game. On to game #6 (game #2 for them) we were all tired but trying to fake optimism but it wasn't working to well! We lost 11-15 and are the proud new owners of bright red 2009 H.A.R.D Volleyball Sports League short sleeved t-shirt. My thought, I didn't really want a long sleeve shirt (in July) with Champion written on it anyway. All I wanted was the big ice pack for my back and the two little ones for my knees. I told Steve to take a picture of me looking pathetic but he graciously declined! I Love Him!

So other than 1 more softball game (that I am trying to bail on because its the night before my anniversary) I am basically done with sports until after the baby! I will miss you my loves but now I get to be team mom!!!!

On better notes, my mommy is going with Steve and I to my 15 weeks appointment this afternoon. She is playing hookie from work so I invited her along so she can hear her grand babies heart beat! I think she's pretty excited and so am I, I can't wait to check on our little baked potato (btw that's what I call the baby now, thanks to my potato cravings).

Steve also talked to our next door neighbor yesterday about daycare. She is an older lady who is really sweet and in the years we have lived next to her, she has fostered numerous little ones that are often the result of drug addicted mothers. She has had the same little girl now for about a year and a half and before her she had another little girl for almost two years. I'll never forget the day she brought her around to say goodbye to all the neighbors because she had to give her back to the crack head mom because she made a deal get her kids while she was still in rehab! Anyhow, Linda is a great lady whom I would completely trust to take care of my child and the benefit is she is right next door AND she told Steve she would be more than willing to provide daycare for us (we will be paying her) and we would just figure out all the logistics to protect both her, us and the baby! So I am very excited!!!

Other than that, I'm hoping to have a nice relaxing weekend ahead of me! I'll update later with info on my appointment and you have a great weekend yourself!

Night Ranger, BBQs and Blueberry Pancakes

I hope everyone had a great 4th of July weekend!!!!

Ours started out with going to the fair on Friday night! Mmmmm corndog, soft serve shared with Steve, corn on the cob (dipped in butter with parmesan) and nachos shared with mom. Yeah not a healthy night but very very yummy! Our whole reason for going, besides the fact that its the fair, is that Steve and my mom wanted to go to the Night Ranger concert. Of course 3 songs in, I realized this was baby's first concert (damn it, I was holding out for Nickleback in Sept). Steve enjoyed himself but I only knew one of their songs, Sister Christian.

Saturday we went to my friends sons birthday party and then headed off to the annual BBQ that Steve has been going to for years! I got to share the baby news with one of Steve's best friends as soon as we got there and she was super duper happy for us. I also shared the news with her daughters (who were our flower girls) and they were excited too. I left telling everyone else up to Steve and he made up a plan. Every year they do a prayer before eating and Steve's let his friend know he wanted to add something he was thankful for. Midway through the casual prayer Dre gave him the look and Steve made the announcement, it was followed by a crowd of cheers which is always so awesome to hear! It was a good day!

Sunday we went out to breakfast with my mom. Thanks to an episode of Bobby Flay's Throwdown, I have been craving blueberry pancakes for a week. We have our favorite breakfast restaurant and they serve these huge platter size blueberry pancakes so it was perfect. Steve and I decided to share a platter and I was starving. Here they come, we got a separate plate and I started digging in, sooooo yummy. I was about half way done with my one huge pancake when I looked up at my mom and she knew something was wrong.

I was locked into a very small booth not meant for anyone over size 8 let alone a pregnant bulge. I turned to Steve and said "Honey, move!" to which he replied "Huh?" and I said, "Move, NOW!" I got up as quickly as possible and said I was going outside for some air. Once I got out there, the air was refreshing but it wasn't a matter of keeping it down, it was a matter of when it was coming up. I rushed down an alcove on the side of the movie theatre next door and gave back my once fabulous blueberry pancakes. Steve came out to check on me, thankfully with napkins in hand. Back in the restaurant I visited the very small restroom in the kitchen where I realized not only did I loose my breakfast but I had blood pouring out of my nose too. Such fun! I went back to the table, ordered toast and lived in fear of the plate of a half eaten blueberry pancake in front of me! Not to worry though, the rest of the day I was fine, I guess baby just didn't want blueberry pancakes!

Well in a nutshell that was my weekend, hope yours was just as eventful, minus the pancakes!

This has been a tough week!

But thankfully...it's almost over. After all the stress of Steve's truck getting stolen and figuring out all that crap, plus not having my car (he's driving it)...I am so ready for the weekend! I have had a bunch of bouts of nausea and a lot of mild cramping (these are the weeks where baby is doubling in size) and have just been exhausted.

Hopefully I get a chance to take it really easy. I'll be getting lots of walking in tomorrow when we go to the fair (mmmm corndog and kettle corn and funnel cake, lol) and then Saturday we've got a birthday party and then an all day/night BBQ. Sunday I am for sure taking it easy!

I wish you all a Happy 4th of July, have a good long relaxing weekend!!!
