So Steve and I got up nice and early this morning to go vote! Yeah for us! My main concern was for all the propositions, I guess I'm not involved enough in politics or city services to know the difference in all the other positions hoping to be filled by the random disgruntled parent or the guy who just thinks it would be cool to run for some sort of office. I really got a kick out of why some of these people felt they could do the job outlined in the bold print! Facinating yet none the less I chose candidates based on their little paragraphs of info that really do nothing but give me a little itty bitty amount of insight.
For the last couple weeks I have been scanning over the 12 California propositions, some were and easy choice and others took a lot more research and thought! How many millions upon millions of dollars can we borrow to pay 100% interest on, to do a job that will most likely end up costing us triple the original amount. Sure they don't raise taxes, we'll just spend the next 30 years paying off all the other countries that own the United States of America. Where is the logic in that?
My main source of entertainment has been the prop commercials. Like the one showing the little girl in the scummy doctors office who looks like he's about to rape her. Seriously if your 16 year old daughter can't come to you about getting pregnant you have failed as a parent. If your child would rather go into some back alley to have an abortion rather than talk to you, you have failed as a parent.
Then theres the prop 8 adds, my thoughts on that... you can't assign rights to a specific status and then tell certain people they can never attain that status. It's all just nuts! The lies that get thrown around in politics are frightening and really draw a sad picture of what we as a people stand for!
So I have spoken, lets wait around and see what the rest of the state thinks!
