Oh to catch up on life....

This is going to be a long post about any and everything updated...bare with me.

So Sammy is 7 months old...
and she is growing absolutely too fast. She has long since mastered sitting up on her own and in the last week she has also mastered pulling up and standing on her own. She still refuses however to crawl and settles with her adorabley cute army crawl. She will get up on all fours, take a couple "steps" and then flop to her stomach and take off. Either that or she will get up on her hands and toes in a downward dog position and then get pissed off that she can't stand up. I'm sure every parent says this but I have a feeling she will walk before she crawls.

She is doing amazingly with daycare...which is more than can be said about her sleeping habits. She started out fantastic with her sleep training, by night 3 she was down and out sleeping until the morning with no crying. Then she started getting up and 4am everyday and crying. Now she has gone back to her going to bed at 9pm, only to wake up screaming at 10pm. The first night we let her scream for 20 minutes (while checking Ferber style) and then Steve picked her up, soothed her while she screamed for another 10 and then I grabbed her and she went right to sleep (cue pissed hubby). The second night she screamed for 40 minutes when we gave in, Steve grabbed her, put her in her bouncer and rocked her back to sleep, she was out until morning. Then of course last night, same deal, bed at 9pm, up at 10pm, rock back to sleep but then she added the extra bonus of a 3:30am wake up time. Sounds like its time for some more tough love...we'll see how this goes.

Friday night we spent the evening at the Oakland Coliseum for the A's game and fireworks. They lost but I got some great pics.
Meanwhile, Steve celebrated his 40 birthday on Monday. In honor of the day, we went to dinner Saturday night with friends and then Monday night as a family. Sammy was a rock star for both...and now for your viewing pleasure...pictures:

So that's it for now, hope you enjoyed the update, I'll be back very soon as to stick with the 30 Day Blog Challenge. For details or to join, click below:

I'm feeling really good today

I'm not sure why but I just have a great feeling about today! It is going to be a beautiful weekend and Steve and I have nothing planned other than my first softball game of the new season tonight. Maybe I'm in such a great mood because we've had a ton of sex this week and it's not over. I am most likely ovulating today so Steve committed to today and tomorrow for more, I think this will be our longest streak since we've been married.

Speaking of softball, Steve and I don't want to tell any of our close friends we're pregnant (once we get pg) until 8 -10 weeks. That's kind of hard considering I play softball and volleyball with most of them at least once a week. So I came up with a great plan to say I busted my ankle. Steve, being the injury prone one, has a brace for every occasion so I can really play it up and say I'm not playing because of that. Because if I said I was quitting for no reason, they would all know we we're pg because they all know were trying. So I am very proud of myself for that plan. Now if I can figure out how to get my replacement on the teams to reimburse the $150 I'm putting in to play, then I'll give myself a HUGE pat on the back.

Anyhow, life is good, I'm off work in an hour, going to get my car washed, then going home and getting it on, then I think I'll take Steve out to lunch and maybe to a movie. He's getting a little down about his surgery next week so I do what I can to keep him smiling. I'm hoping for a really awesome weekend and I hope yours is just as great!

So much going on

My brain is on overload, I feel like I'm missing something, or something is going to happen that I'm not ready for. I feel like I'm completely unorganized and have so much that needs to be done in a very short amount of time. I think I'm going insane...

So they had layoffs on Friday, mostly people that I would have expected or wanted, others I was shocked or annoyed by, only 1 a completely disagree with. Nevertheless I'm here and have to be happy I have a job, however I think it's inevitable that you wouldn't feel secure anymore. Business seemed great, the numbers were all right and yet we still did a layoff. They say part of it was to weed out the crap people, get rid of them and blame it on the economy but I don't know if I believe that 100%. Either way I'm still here, working away, hoping to be here next week.

Steve and I are working on setting up a new photo shoot to retake our wedding pictures. I just looked through them again and it just depresses me. I think I really need this photo shoot just to pull myself out of this slump! So in the next couple weeks, we'll be on our way, getting all gussied up to pose like we've never posed before.

Hmmm what else is going on...oh getting in shape. We are on a mission, I would love to be in much better shape before trying to add another person to my body weight. I want to be one of those cute obviously pregnant people, not a questionable possibly just fat woman! So back on track with eating (damn yummy holiday food) and getting our butts to the gym everyday.

Plus while spending all this time at work, the gym and planning photo shoots, we have to get the house cleaned up so we can host our first Thanksgiving as the married cooking machine. I'm really excited, I want to do it up all nice and pretty.

I think that's it, my mini vent to get everything out of my mind. We'll see how long that works for!
